My Story

The journey

My journey began in 2016 after a routine physical led to oncology appointments and a diagnosis of smoldering multiple myeloma. In 2017, the disease progressed to active multiple myeloma. I underwent an autologous stem-cell transplant in January 2018.

Advocacy

In 2020, I served as the patient representative for Mayo Clinic’s Myeloma and You Day and have remained active in multiple-myeloma communities.

Family

Multiple myeloma did not happen only to me. It has affected my wife, children and grandchildren too.
